It’s A Jeep Thing!
So you bought a Jeep Wrangler and you’re ready for the open roads. I mean why not, Jeep isn’t just an SUV, ohhhh no … it’s an adventure. It’s the ONLY vehicle where you can take the doors off, push the windshield onto the hood and feel the wind in your hair!! (not to mention bugs … but hey that’s what showers are for!!)
There is one thing you need to keep in mind. In addition to buying a vehicle made for anything you can throw at it, you’ve also added new found friends. Whether it’s a Wrangler, TJ, CJ or YJ, whether it’s a new one or you bought a previously enjoyed Jeep … you became a friend to every other Jeep owner … it’s excellent!
You’ll notice this camarderie when you pass another and you get the “wave.”
The Jeep Wave: An honor bestowed upon those drivers with the superior intelligence, taste, class, and discomfort tolerance to own the ultimate vehicle – the Jeep. Generally consists of vigorous side-to-side motion of one or both hands, but may be modified to suit circumstances and locally accepted etiquette. A nod, a full wave, even two finger wave and a nod is great … just as long as you do it!
Why do I bring this up … you ask? I was returning back to Toronto from London one Sunday afternoon and of course passed many Jeeps on the road. Only a few waved back and what struck me was this is a culture that was handed down through the years and it is quickly becoming extinct. I felt a little sad and decided to write this post.
If you are a sales person it is your duty to explain the Jeep Wave to your customer. If you own a Jeep … keep the culture going!!

I want to get myself a brand new vehicle on monday, I’m thinking of the brand new Mondeo 2011, as my present vehicle is leaking. But as I work for a vehicle leasing company its not really a problem, just a shame it happened on the weekend.
